Illustration for Kahu News – Matariki Feature

Commissioned to illustrate the meaning and significance of the stars of Matariki for a Kahu News article, my objective was to visually interpret each whetū in a way that honours its cultural depth and matauranga Maori.
The illustrations accompanied a feature that explored Matariki's themes of remembrance, celebration, and renewal — supporting the storytelling with artwork that is both respectful and evocative. This work contributed to a broader kaupapa of cultural education and visibility during one of Aotearoa’s most important times of reflection.
